The Reserve Bank of India has very nearly completed preparations for introducing this new high-value currency, sources said.There has been no official word on the introduction of new notes either from the RBI or the government. The government, on the advice of the RBI , decides on various denominations of banknotes to be issued.



The incidence of cash transactions and the huge volume of high-value currencies is unique to India, notwithstanding recent efforts to move towards cashless transactions. The two topmost currencies — Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 — accounted for about 86 percent of the new currency notes added in 2014-15, according to RBI statistics.

Currency notes and coins are printed/minted at about eight units owned by the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited (SPMCIL), a finance ministry company. SMPCIL’s two currency printing units — at Dewas in Madhya Pradesh and Nashik in Maharashtra — print about 40 percent of India’s currency notes. Coins are minted at Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Noida units of SMPCIL.




Currency notes and coins are printed/minted by the government of India on the advice of the RBI, which also estimates the denomination-wise currency needs, and co-ordinates with the government on design and security aspects.

The highest denomination note ever printed by the Reserve Bank of India was the Rs 10,000 note in 1938 and again in 1954. These notes were demonetised in 1946, and again in 1978.

Mohenjo Daro heroine Pooja Hegde, who is playing Chaani in this Hrithik Roshan film, is reportedly suffering from dengue and will not be able to be a part of promotional activities. Pooja was busy promoting the Ashutosh Gowariker film when she was diagnosed.
A source told Deccan Chronicle, “It was three to four days ago that she was diagnosed with dengue. She was unwell for a few days and decided to undergo a few tests. She had already committed and given her nod to multiple photo shoots and appearances, but will now have to back out. The makers of the film have, however, been very cordial, asking her to take her time to recover before jumping back into action.”
This is going to hit the promotional activities of Mohenjo Daro. Recalling how Pooja impressed him when they met for the first time, Hrithik had narrated during film’s launch, “The first time I met Pooja was at a a photo session where we interacted professionally. Excel Entertainment and Dharma Production's Baar Baar Dekho just came out with their first song 'Kala chashma' and as it starts gathering buzz around it, producer Ritesh Sidhwani clarifies the film is anything but the standard Bollywood romantic comedy, that we've seen till date.
Directed by debutante Nithya Mehra, the film follows the story of a two individuals Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif and their life story from the age of 18 to 60. The film is reportedly based on Richard Curtis's About Time starring Domnhall Gleeson, Rachel McAdams and Bill Nighy.
he Kala Chashma teaser showed us actors like Rajit Kapoor, Ram Kapoor and a bunch of supporting characters. Director Nithya Mehra has previously worked as an assistant director with Ang Lee's Life of Pi and Mira Nair's The Reluctant Fundamentalist.
